Good Day,
This morning I recorded an increase of 16 points to 127 mg/dL to my early morning blood sugar count.
And I did not cycle yesterday. Spent the morning at Circle of Life. It was The Pack’s annual check-up and all-out hyper-morning.
I was more preoccupied with appointments and errands again yesterday. I stopped at my favorite all-you-can-eat-buffet Jai-Ho Royale for a lunch and a supposed early supper. And I pigged out, 6 plates with Chickpea Salad, Chicken Makhani, Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Biryani, Onion Bhaji’s, Indian Okra, Dal, Naan, Basmati Rice…
Chickpea Salad. Carb count ≈ 17 grams.
Chicken Makhani. Carb count ≈ 24 grams.
Tandoori Chicken. Carb count ≈ 2 grams.
Chicken Biryani. Carb count ≈ 81 grams.
Indian Okra. Carb count ≈ 14 grams.

Total carbohydrate count for lunch approximates 435 grams.
And then later I had my favorite, a Tomato, Mayo and Cheese Sandwich…with a couple of scoops of B&J Phish Food. And a Canada Dry Ginger Ale. Carb count ≈ 164 grams.
Total carb count, somewhere in the vicinity of 567 grams.

I am trying to control my diabetes with exercise and food. I have eliminated all diabetes medication. I am keeping my weight stable, and Jim's gotta eat.
Enjoy.

JGE 85 – FBS Decrease 14 Points – Happy Fish Tampa
Good Day,
This morning I recorded a decrease of 14 to 112 mg/dL to my early morning blood sugar count. Whew! Thank you Happy Fish Tampa.
Last night I was leary of what I should eat for my Supper Showdown to help reduce my blood sugar from the day before. And I didn’t want to eat rabbit food or starve myself. I wanted a good, reasonable seafood meal, and I did not want to cook or spend an arm and a leg.
I found, according to Yelp’s rating, the number 1 ranked seafood restaurant in Tampa, Happy Fish. It is listed as and cites itself as an “Authentic Peruvian Cuisine” and a “Peruvian Fusion”. Well I am definitely glad I found it.
The service was very, very, very good. Period. And the menu choices were good, obviously. I didn’t overeat but could easily have.
My early blood sugar recorded a decrease of 14 points, and I am back in the normal range at 112 ms/dL. Thank you Happy Fish.
I shared Ceviche Mixto. Carb count ≈ 25 grams.
I shared Lomo Saltado. Carb count ≈ 42 grams.
I shared Chaufa Especial con Pollo. Carb count ≈ 49 grams.
I had 2 of 5 Picarones. Carbs ≈ 91 grams.
Total carbohydrate count last night approximates 207 grams.

FSB – 112 ↓ down 126 (Normal range 100 – 125 mg/dL)
A1c – 5.37 ≡ 5.37 (Normal range 5.7 – 6.4 %)

JGE 84 – FBS Increase 18 Points – Crispers’ Reuben Sandwich
Good Day,
This morning I recorded an increase of 18 to 126 mg/dL to my early morning blood sugar count.
Danger, Danger Will Robinson!. Blood sugar above the normal range.
Last night’s supper, (I didn’t cook), was Crispers’ cup of Kickin’ Crab Chowder and a Reuben Sandwich, and a bag of Kettle Chips.
I was frustrated and exhausted. I had to remove two 15+ years growth of golden bamboo clumps from the front yard. An anonymous someone reported an issue of line of sight to the Hillsborough County Code Enforcement Department.
I also had a can of San Pellegrino Blood Orange Soda. And of course my bowl of ice-cream
Whole Reuben Sandwich. Carb count ≈ 72 grams.
Cup Kickin’ Crab Chowder. Carbs ≈ 17 grams.
Bag of Kettle Chips. Carbs ≈ 17 grams.
Can of San Pellegrino Blood Orange Soda. Carbs ≈ 33 grams.
And of course, Breyers Girl Scouts Samoas Ice Cream. Carbs ≈ 42 grams.
Total carbohydrate count last night approximates 181 grams.
And I love Reuben sandwiches...
Results –
FSB – 126 ↑ up 108 (Normal range 100 – 125 mg/dL)
A1c – 5.37 ↑ up 5.36 (Normal range 5.7 – 6.4 %)
eAG – 107.5 ↑ up 107.2 (Normal range 117 – 137 mg/dL)

Food for thought – Exhaustion and frustration should not be a contributing factor for meal choice.
